People don’t call Kevin Larson the “King of polite porn” without reason. The former owner of Pandora’s Toybox, a sex toy and lingerie store on South Broadway, Larson has been throwing some of Denver’s sexiest parties since he formed Kevin Larson Presents several years ago. And this weekend’s theme party at Tabu nightclub (located above the Diamond Cabaret, it shares a cabaret license that allows partial nudity) looks to be one of his raciest yet.

First of all, you should know that these parties promote and provide ample opportunity for blatant voyeurism. They usually involve several sexy, exhibitionist stage shows, followed by an (optional, naturally) audience-participation portion. And no, we’re not talking live sex on stage or anything creepy or illegal, but you may see some kinky dance performances involving props ranging from feathers and candles to leathers and chains.

For Saturday’s event, Larson found a performer who promises to share her knowledge of how to achieve orgasm mentally — with no physical stimulation — and she’ll be on hand to demonstrate this unusual skill for the curious masses. (Gotta admit, I’m both skeptical and intrigued by this concept.) Another show will feature a staged bed outfitted with yards of sheer, stretchy fabric. What they’ll do with it is anyone’s guess, and the audience will then be invited to get creative and involved.
