Wayne Dale, owner of the Denver Cru wine store in Riverfront, has just announced that he’s sold the wine shop. Dale is known for his friendly demeanor and love of fine wines, but also for his on-point party hosting skills.
Dale announced the new owner, Peter Klann, in an e-mail to friends and customers this week.
“I want to thank you all for your support. The best thing that I got out of this business adventure is something priceless, and that is a bunch of new friendships, and through them my life will continue to be rewarded.
“So for one last big bash, please join us this Thursday at + gallery at 6 pm for our wine tasting and wine and art sale. This will give me a chance to say thank you once again and an opportunity for everyone to meet the new owner, Peter Klann.”
The tasting is part of the Palettes and Palates varietal series, which takes place at the gallery throughout the year. Thursday’s varietals: Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and Tempranillo.
If you haven’t been to a wine tasting at the + Gallery, I highly recommend it. Unlike your average art opening, where the wine is generally something of an afterthought, these gallery parties share the focus on both the art and the wine tastings. It’s a great date night, or a fun time with friends. You can view selections from the current exhibit online, but like all art, you have to see it firsthand to experience it properly.
That being said, having many selections of wine on hand for tastings only makes the experience better.
