We all know a few of them: average Joes who don’t know the first thing about hair products, fashion design, and/or fine dining and polite conversation. Nothing is necessarily wrong with that, but for any you Joes out there (or any of you gals with a Joe in tow) who are ready to spruce things up, there’s an hour-long seminar this Thursday evening devoted to showing Joe the way to gentlemanly manners and metrosexual style. The “Distinguished Affair Evening” is designed to introduce sophistication, integrity, chivalry and style to the previously uninitiated. In their words, they’ll “deliver powerful information on what it means to be a modern day gentleman. From grooming to power suits, etiquette to waxing, all the elements necessary to complete an appearance that will instill confidence in men.” Ready to suit up and accept the challenge? Head to Metroboom, a men’s style salon at 1550 Platte St., from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday. It’s free, they’ll feed you food and beverages, and then the newly-styled Cary Grants can head to the Purple Martini at the Tabor Center to meet up with a group of similarly pampered gals heading over from Aspire Day Spa. Sounds like a win-win deal to me.
