It’s that time again. Tonight, the wineries (and wine lovers) of the world will celebrate the release of this year’s Beaujolais Nouveau. It’s barely been bottled, but you can crack it open and enjoy at several events around town tonight.
Little Raven Vineyards in Riverfront is hosting “Passport to Gamay,” a beaujolais party from 6 -8 p.m. tonight. Aside from sampling the current year’s offering, you can compare and learn about regular Beaujolais, Beaujolais Villages, and other varieties from the ten Beaujolai Cru villages. $40, call 303-573-9473 for reservations.
Aix restaurant is hosting a four course wine dinner tonight for $55. Check out the menu:
- First Course, Assorted Platter, house made duck pate, duck confit, assorted artisan cheeses
- Second Course, Braised Rabbit Napoleon, Slow braised rabbit, roasted apricot, puff pastry
- Third Course, Filet Bourguignon, baby carrot, goat cheese crostini, creme friache or Bouillabaise Stew, saffron sauce, Manilla clams, roasted tomato, P.E.I. mussels, marinated chicken, chorizo, mustard greens.
- Fourth Course, Dessert Plate, chocolate truffles, roasted apple tart tatin, creme brulee
And the French American Chamber of Commerce is hosting a huge beaujolais celebration tonight at the 1770 Sherman Events Center. A silent auction includes vacation rentals in Paris and Burgundy, high-end jewelry, and tons of wine, food, and restaurant options. Look for beaujolais and other wines, and food stations by more than 20 French-inspired restaurants and caterers as well, inclucing L’Absinthe, Le Central, Crepes & Crepes, Painted Bench, Steak au Poivre, and Sparrow. $45, 6 – 10 p.m. Call Call (303) 695 7818 for tickets and information.
