Katrina has always been a family nickname of mine. With Hurricane Katrina all over the headlines lately, that might be a thing of the past. Then again… The fabulous people behind Sunneshine Couture in Cherry Creek have come out with a novel way to raise money for the hurricane victims: “Katrina’s a Bitch” T-shirts. The tees come in men and women’s sizes, and sport a skull and crossbones on the front, with the sassy saying screenprinted on the back. Boutique owner Sunne Meyer paid to have the shirts made herself, and will donate 100 percent of the $30 price tag to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. A second tee is available, with the simple phrase “Love Your Neighbor” and will also sell for $30 with proceeds going to Red Cross. Actually, I think a “Katrina’s a Bitch” tee is a great idea — and the perfect thing for me during those nasty PMS moments. Guess maybe I’ll keep that nickname after all.
