I’m a sucker for freebies. So of course I had to check out Mynt’s new Girl’s Night Out event Thursday night, drawn by the tantalizing promise of a salon-sponsored gift bag. Goodies included a sample of cucumber foot lotion, a purse-size tin of mints, and a miniature bottle of cuticle oil, courtesy of Miracles Nail Spa in Cherry Creek.

I got there a bit late, but still met the hostess, Stephanie Jerome. She’s a bundle of energy and worked the room like a proper social butterfly. There were a surprising number of men in the crowd (very clever of them to come to girl’s night) — mostly single and fully checking out the scenery.

All in all, the social aspect was even better than the gift bag. But then again, there’s a lot to be said for that cucumber lotion.
