February equals Valentine’s Day, which equals romance. Picture the two of you in this scenario: wine, chocolate-covered strawberries, soft music, candlelight… and two talented masseuses working their magic on your stressed out, tightened up muscles. Aspire Day Spa offers couples massage (or any other dual treatments) all of the time, but right now is a great time to check it out. Valentine’s Day is coming, and this is exactly the kind of gift idea that will make you look like the perfect sweetheart. I went with my honey last weekend to check it out, and the experience was great. The Victorian house sits on an odd little block in the Baker neighborhood near 6th & Speer, but once you walk through the doors, you”ll feel instantly at home. The wine and strawberries are part of their Valentine’s special, which runs through the month of February. Included in the regular price of the couples massage — $130 for one hour for two people — is a glass of wine for each of you, and a tray full of Godiva chocolates and chocolate-covered strawberries. They give you a few minutes to relax together before the massage, and afterward you’ll move to a quaint little sitting room for more wine and chocolate, and plenty of lemony ice water to keep you hydrated. The special isn’t just for massage; you can sign up for a body wrap, massage, facial, or any other combination of two treatments. But you can’t go wrong with the massage. And even if you don’t have a sweetheart to take with you, grab a friend, your Mom, or anyone else you want to treat for Valentine’s Day. Of course, you can always treat yourself — the solo package includes all of the same indulgences, and runs only $65. Sometimes you have to look out for number one.
