When a family member falls ill, loved ones rise up to help. The same holds true within the tight-knit restaurant community, in which coworkers quickly become family. This Sunday, April 29, the staff from sister restaurants Santo, Blackbelly, and Blackbelly Butcher (all owned by chef Hosea Rosenberg), are inviting diners and industry folks to help one of their family members, Santo line cook Curtis Stringe, by coming out to a Crawfish Boil and Party. Stringe recently battled a life-threatening medical condition that put him in the hospital for weeks. While he thankfully made a full recovery, the medical bills are overwhelming.
The benefit party will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on the patio at Blackbelly Butcher. For $60 per ticket (easily purchased here), guests will feast on gumbo, smoked pork, suckling pig, salads, and of course, plenty of crawfish from Louisiana Crawfish Co. They’ll also receive two drink tickets redeemable for Post Brewing Co. beers, cocktails, or wine, plus a raffle ticket that can win you prizes such as restaurant gift cards, tickets to the Denver Food & Wine Festival, a Denver Passport for Life, and concert tickets.
If you can’t make it to the party, you can still help Stringe through this GoFundMe page.
