Looks like the Colorado Symphony Orchestra is trying to reach out to younger audiences.
The symphony has formed a new fundraising and events group called UnStrung, which will work to create some funky events to bring classical and orchestral music to a broader — and younger — audience. Other large Denver non-profits have formed similar groups; the Denver Art Museum has Culture Haus, and the Denver Zoo has the Wild Things Society.
The first few events for UnStrung are indeed unusual for CSO. On January 31 the organizaton will host a Brewhouse Concert at the Flying Dog Brewery, and in February a Culture Crawl event will combine art exhibits, wine tastings, and classical string quartets.
Finalized details are still forthcoming, but I’ll have the rest of the scoop for you soon.
