Some people really like to show their holiday spirit. Downtown dwellers know that the block of Milwaukee between 13th and 14th Avenues in Congress Park is guaranteed to be decked out in holiday splendor year after year. It seems that the homeowners on this street started a game of “keeping up with the Joneses” years ago, and nearly every home is tricked out in thousands of colored lights, along with plenty of santas, sugarplums, and twinkling trees and reindeer. And throughout town, similar pockets of brightly-lit houses attract looky-loos from neighborhoods far and wide. The Rocky Mountain News has posted an online Holiday Lights guide, where you can download maps, view slide shows and cast your vote for the top twinklers around.
