It’s gonna be 90 degrees today, and I’m hearing 92 tomorrow. This summer is shaping up to be a long, hot, dry stretch if this continues. Not that I’m complaining, exactly. I love summertime, and I’m not alone.
This is the busiest time of the year for us night owls, with warm weather turning weekend afternoons and evenings into marathon party-hops. The patio parties, barbecues, and luau events are starting up not on Memorial Day weekend, but tonight. I’ll be rolling down to Mezcal’s patio party this evening for margs and soft tacos, and I may try to make it by Rise nightclub for their beach-bash happy hour from 5 – 9 p.m. They bring in everything but the sand and surf, including white cabanas, imported palm trees, Top 40 summertime tunes, and buckets of cold Coronas.
Afterward, it’s the Sushi, Sake & Sumo wrestling shindig at Invesco, and then I may stop by Vinyl nightclub for the Manufactured Superstars Prom 2006 party, where I’ll be chilling on the rooftop, soaking up the summertime vibe. Yep. Summer has officially begun.
