I’m due for a vacation. But, since that isn’t on the horizon right now, I may have to settle for a quick substitute and simply find a nice, warm, exotic … dinner.
Over in Highlands, the darling little 8 Rivers Cafe is showing off their new fall menu with a $45 four-course “Autumn in the Carribbean” dinner next Wednesday, November 29. On the menu: crab fritters, pumpkin bisque soup, smoked jerk Cornish game hen (or baked sea bass), and key lime pie. Yummy, no? And that’s just the beginning of exective chef Scott Durrah’s fall temptations. With hickory smoked jerk turkey, roasted red pepper and sweet corn chowder, and pumpkin pie all on the menu, there are plenty of seasonal reasons to drop in.
Sure, it’s not the same as a real vacation. But I’ll take a mini taste escape for now. The small restaurant can only accomodate 36 people, so call soon if you want in. Interested? Check ’em out online or call 720-477-1126 to reserve a spot.
