Menswear shop Armitage & McMillan opened this week in the Riverfront neighborhood. Owners Daniel Armitage and Darin McMillan gave us a sneak peek at their seven must-have items for spring.

Steven Alan shirts have the ideal slim cut. This chambray ($168) works for any season, but especially as a casual layering piece for early spring.

It’s hard to find a great pair of slim-fitting chinos that are good substitutes for denim, but these Unis New York Skinny Gio in vintage khaki ($198) are made from Italian cotton twill, so they’re not too thin and are incredibly comfortable. As for the color: You can never go wrong with a solid khaki—no matter the season.
