It’s the most wonderful time of the year: ski season. Check out our list of opening dates and festivities, and mark your calendar so you can make the most out of Colorado’s early slope openings.

October 13 Arapahoe Basin
“Mother Nature has been kind to the Basin,” says Alan Henceroth, Arapahoe Basin Chief Operating Officer. We skiers agree. Last season, A-Basin started spinning their lifts on October 21. So, thank you snow gods for being extra kind, and for kicking off skiing in Colorado a full eight days earlier this year. Don’t let Friday the thirteenth deter you (or do).

November 10 Keystone Resort, Breckenridge Ski Resort and Copper Mountain
Keystone, Breckenridge and Copper are all set to commence their seasons on the same day, so if you’re an Epic Pass holder, you have your pick of two great resorts for Friday the 10th. Or, if you haven’t jumped on the Vail Resorts train yet, you can head to Copper for a day filled with plenty of shredding, free donuts, and live music at the base.

November 15 Winter Park Resort
Notorious for rowdy opening day festivities, Winter Park Resort is likely to throw down another great first day this year filled with plenty of hot laps, free swag, and cold beer.

November 17 Vail Mountain Resort and Eldora Mountain Resort
Celebrate the start of the season at Vail Mountain Resort, which is set to have live music, free swag giveaways, and even free breakfast burritos to keep you energized during your first full day of shredding. If you like to stay closer to home in the Front Range, Eldora will be kicking off their 2017-18 season on Friday, November 17, too.

November 18 Purgatory Resort
Purgatory will begin the 2017-18 season in the southern portion of the state on Saturday the 18th. Skiers and riders can expect to enjoy a memorable day in the San Juan Mountains.

November 22 Beaver Creek Resort
Beaver Creek skiers and riders love the resort’s free chocolate chip cookies, and these sweets will not be short on opening day. Aside from the treats, powderhounds can also expect live music, complimentary hot cocoa, giveaways, and of course, plenty of turns on the resort’s pristinely groomed pistes.

November 23 Steamboat Resort, Aspen Mountain, Snowmass Ski Area, Telluride Ski Resort and Crested Butte Mountain Resort
Pick your poison—five Colorado resorts will be opening their slopes on Turkey Day. If you’re a Mountain Collective Pass skier, you can make your way to two of the four Aspen resorts, or head further south to kick off your season at Telluride. Crested Butte and Steamboat will also be celebrating their official start of winter, which means you have plenty of options to make some turns in order to feel less guilty about a day spent eating and watching football from the couch.

December 9 Buttermilk Mountain and Aspen Highlands Ski Resort
If you love taking laps in the terrain park, head to Buttermilk for their opening day, which is likely to attract plenty of park rats. Neighbor Aspen Highlands will also begin turning their lifts, too, so if you’re an Aspen local or simply just an Aspen fan, you have plenty of options for Saturday the 9th.
