The Rocky Mountain Showdown will have a national audience again this year, when the University of Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado State University Rams play their season-opening football game on Sunday, September 6. (The game was originally scheduled to be played September 5 at Boulder’s Folsom Field.)
CSU football coach Steve Fairchild likes the idea, writes the Fort Collins Coloradoan, but CU fans aren’t as thrilled. The switch gives the Buffaloes just four days to prepare for their next game, which will be September 11 at the University of Toledo, Ohio (via the Boulder Daily Camera).
