There are two schools of thought when it comes to grocery shopping. One prefers routine, shopping every week on the same day. This school tends to shop on weekends and plan meals for the upcoming week.
The second school of thought is more primal. They are the sleepy shoppers (often single) who tend to comb through the aisles on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m.
I’ll go out on a limb and say that both schools are wrong. In fact, Wednesdays are the best days to get your groceries. Particularly if you’re a Sunflower Market shopper.
Each Wednesday Sunflower releases its new sale advertisements, but you’ll get twice the savings because they also honor the sale items from the previous week. And for those who want to plan meals ahead of time, Sunflower even releases the next week’s ads on Tuesday nights online so you can check for the double sales and plan accordingly.
I’ve been addicted for the past six months, and I’ve found that I’ll often spend less than half of my projected budget. It’s also inspired me to try new dishes to utilize meats and produce on sale. This week I’m finally going to try to my hand at grilling ribs (just $1.99/lb).
