Twisted Pine Brewing Company‘s newest chili beer was started with a challenge. The brewers brought their well-balanced Billy’s Chilies beer to a chili and beer festival, and the crowd begged for something hotter.
Then the Twisted Pine brewers found bhut jolokia, nicknamed “the ghost chili.” It weighs in at five times hotter than a habañero, and the brewers mixed the fiery find with Anaheim, Fresno, jalapeño, serrano, and habeñero chiles.
The result? Ghost Face Killah, Twisted Pine’s brand-new brew, which will be released tomorrow for the Twisted Pine Cinco de Mayo party, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the brewery. The brewers will also be releasing their Holy Mole chocolate-chili beer. The newly released beers will be on special for $3, and they’ll also offer $3 red beers made from Billy’s Chilies, tomato juice, and hot sauce.
Can’t make it to Boulder tomorrow? The beer will also be featured at the Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest, June 4-5.
