What: Robert Sanchez, 5280‘s senior staff writer, was invited to watch the filming of this video in northeast Park Hill as he was reporting on gang life in the neighborhood. The artist, AD, is a Compton, California, rapper who filmed a portion of the video on the site of the revitalized Holly Square, which had been fire-bombed several years earlier. Sanchez’s reporting changed dramatically in September when Terrance Roberts—the Park Hill activist who’d helped lead the transformation at the Holly—shot and paralyzed a gang member before a neighborhood unity rally.
