National Steak and Poultry of Owasso, Oklahoma, has recalled 248,000 pounds of beef products in six states, including Colorado, in response to an outbreak of E. coli bacteria-related illnesses.

Reuters reports the company is working with U.S. Department of Agriculture food inspectors as a precautionary measure because its products might be linked to the outbreak. The company has not confirmed any problems.

“This is the first recall in our company’s nearly 30-year history,” the firm relays in a recorded message on a consumer hotline.

Affected products are marketed under the company’s name, as well as Carino’s Boneless Beef and Moe’s Beef Steak, and extend to Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, South Dakota, and Washington state. CNN reports the feds have issued a Class I recall, indicating the highest risk if the products are eaten.
