Let the little ones learn about (and play like) a curious woodland creature with the guidance of naturalist Heidi Skiba. Kids ages three to five years old will craft a raccoon mask, hear animal-themed tales, and play interactive games to understand how to identify a raccoon, the importance of keeping trash stowed in its habitat, and the body parts that help it to survive. For Denver-based artist Mario Zoots, collage is all about altering reality. Snipping, pasting, and recreating bodies and forms, Zoots creates works that are both geometrically structured and subversively messy—dripping with paint, splattered, whitewashed, or blotted out. At this opening, take in an exclusive collection of Zoots’ surreal work, which brings together the dark romanticism of old Hollywood stills and the artist’s own photography. Great Chefs of the West, March 10

With too many of Denver’s favorite chefs, winemakers, and brewers to count, this indulgent night is sure to keep even the most discerning taste buds satisfied. Sample morsels from the cooks at ChoLon, Osaka Ramen, Il Posto, and more—plus beer by Avery Brewing Co., spirits by Hanger 1 Vodka and Maestro Dobel Tequila, and the musical stylings of local rock group Rob Drabkin. From Kim Rosenstock, writer for HBO’s hit series Girls, comes this witty new comedy about Sherry Wickman, a young woman who has recently earned her masters degree in art therapy, only to find herself unemployed and moving back into her childhood home. After dozens of job applications, a gig finally comes through, and Sherry feels things are going her way at last—if she can only get her mother to come downstairs, her sister to get off the couch, and her therapy patient to cooperate.
