Fractured Landscapes of the West, March 3 to May 29

At the opening of this intimate exhibit, hear from Colorado-based landscape painter Sangeeta Reddy as she discusses her work and her artistic process. Born in 1955 in Hyderabad, India, Reddy splits her time between the Western states and her home country, but focuses her work on the landscapes of Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. Her vibrant geometric shapes and expressive colors give her warm, rocky scenes a sort of tectonic fluidity. 10 Myths on the Proper Application of Beauty Products, March 4 to March 26

For this fascinating dark comedy, six actors join together with a three-person band to tell the story of a group of friends that are part of a strange love hexagon. Based on local author Miriam Suzanne’s open-source novel Riding SideSaddle*, the play mixes tradition with modernity and realism with absurdity. Partially based on the Greek myth of Salmacis and Hermaphroditus, who are merged into “one being of both sexes,” the play asks its viewers to ponder the meaning of what we see when we stand in front of the mirror each day. Ladies’ night gets a makeover with this science-themed meet-and-greet.
