With the departure of quarterback Jay Cutler, the one remaining Denver Broncos star says it’s time to be positive and support rookie head coach Josh McDaniels’ plan.
“The main thing, as one of the leaders of this team, is to buy into what the coach is doing,” cornerback Champ Bailey tells NFL.com.
Backup quarterback Chris Simms says most of the drama that has hung over the Broncos since Cutler whined his way out of town was created by the media, not inside the clubhouse, and that the players are all interested in winning their position battles.
McDaniels isn’t making it easy for anybody, and yesterday the Mile High Report posted its version of the upcoming depth chart. One of their projected starters is center Casey Wiegmann, who came to Denver last year as a backup but ended up starting 16 games. He wants a new contract before training camp in July or he may retire, reports the Colorado Springs Gazette.
