There’s still plenty of snow riding to be done this season, but Colorado resorts are already looking to next year, with some passes recently going on sale, reports the Summit Daily News. Unlimited access to Copper Mountain and Winter Park, plus six days at Steamboat, will run you $409, and unlimited access to the Vail resorts (Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Heavenly, Vail, and Beaver Creek) will cost a cool $599.
Of course, you could always hit the trails less taken, like Vail extreme skier Chris Anthony, whose annual trip to Alaska’s ski mountains is accessible only by helicopter. Anthony documents his annual forays into some of the most beautiful snow-capped peaks in the world every year for the Vail Daily, and his most recent dispatch is full of introspection.
Anthony sets up base camp in Cordova, Alaska, a town in the southeast corner of the state. From there, he leads small groups of skiers into the Chugach Mountains, a gorgeous set of peaks just off the Pacific Coast that see massive amounts of snow each year. Anthony also shares a video of his group’s landing zone, with epic 360-degree views.
