The action at Wednesday’s Colorado Rockies game in Anaheim apparently wasn’t confined to the diamond. The Los Angeles Times reports that an off-duty Anaheim police officer shot two men in the parking lot after the game, where they were allegedly attempting to get into the officer’s vehicle. The men also allegedly choked the off-duty officer and began hitting him over the head with beer bottles. The officer, who was with his wife and two small children, shot each man, one in the chin and the other in the arm. This is apparently the latest in a string of violent incidents at L.A.-area baseball games. At the L.A. Dodgers home opener in April, a man was stabbed multiple times in a stadium parking lot after an argument with several other men. And at the Anaheim Angels’ home opener this year, a fan died during a fight, according to the Times. Let’s hope everybody makes it home alive from the Rockies game tonight in Oakland (8:05 p.m., Fox Sports Net).
