Last week, New York Times writer Jennifer Steinhauer forecasted the rise of the paper plate lunch, a traditional Hawaiian meal that usually includes white rice and mayo-loaded macaroni salad. Steinhauer credits president-elect Barack Obama, who publicly craved the combo, with bringing national–and possibly international–recognition to the carb-heavy lunch.
