“Vail” and “cheap” don’t often appear in the same sentence, but the Cascade Resort and Spa is rolling out spring specials that make a Vail getaway genuinely affordable.
Rates start at $89, and are valid now through the end of May. The catch? Some blackout dates apply, and you’ve got to book this week (online or at 1-800-282-4183, using promotion code VCSPRING13), because the deal ends March 31.
It’s worth jumping on. The Cascade is wrapping up a renovation that fitted rooms with new carpet, furniture, and drapery. Its dedicated lift guarantees you won’t wait in line. Service is first-class: Bell hops, concierges, and front desk staff greet you by name during your stay.
And, if you time your getaway for one of the hotel’s new brewmaster weekends, you can get craft beer for cheap, too. This year, the Vail Cascade retooled its menu to offer an emphasis on craft beer. The Fireside bar pours Firestone, Bonfire Brewing, and other labels that satisfy snobs. And dedicated Brewmasters Weekends bring a brewer to the property to pour special releases and discuss them with guests. On Friday, there’s free tastings from 4 to 7 p.m., and on Saturday at 6 p.m. a $25 brewmaster dinner pairs small plates with beers chosen to complement the food. (The next Brewmasters Weekend takes place April 5 to 6, with Boulder Beer Co. Summer events include Dry Dock, Upslope, and Breckenridge.)
