Yesterday, after a trek through the French Pyrenees, the Tour de France cyclists sat down to dinner. For most, the menu offered measured amounts of carbohydrates and lean protein to ensure that the cyclists would be able to push on to July 27. In honor of this calculating diet and dramatic race, two Denver restaurants have pulled together Tour de France eats.
Until the last day of the race, Chipotle, one of the Tour de France Garmin-Chipotle team sponsors, serves Le Burrito, a carb-heavy wrap with chicken, black beans, cilantro-lime rice, guac, and salsa. (multiple locations)
And, on Tuesday, July 22, Crú: A Wine Bar hosts a five-course French wine dinner ($75) with pours from Sancerre, Burgundy, the Rhone Valley, and Bordeaux. Crú: A Wine Bar, 1442 Larimer St., 303-893-9463.
