It’s official. Tom Tancredo is a national joke.
The opening segment of tonight’s Saturday Night Live mocked the Littleton Congressman’s obession with building a 700-mile fence along the Mexican border. Portraying Tancredo, cast member Jason Sudeikis suggested that the fence could be built less expensively by using illegal immigrants as cheap labor.

The problem with parody, however, is that it has to be far enough removed from reality to strike the viewer as outrageous. Tancredo getting things done with illegal workers is hardly far-fetched.
