During the first week of August, this Denver initiative appropriately named Denver Days, formed by Mayor Michael Hancock five years ago, is set to encourage Denver boroughs to organize get-togethers. Enjoy the Newest Colorado County Fair | August 10–13
Colorado’s newest county fair is hosted in one of the largest counties in the state. The Jeffco Fair and Festival is bringing 4-H, youth programs, and other agricultural elements to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. If you’re in need of one last rodeo, this is a good way to bring in the end of summer.

Shop Your Dream Home | August 10–Labor Day
Throughout the month of August (Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), the annual Parade of Homes will be going on from Denver to Arvada to Castle Rock. Celebrate Art on Colfax | August 12
The second year of Colfax’s open-air gallery, Art-I-Fax, will be held along Park Avenue from Colfax to Humboldt. This years event—featuring local artists and performers as well as food and drink—will pay homage to the people and events of Colfax and look to the future of this historic street/community.

Enjoy free music and fireworks, devour food from the harvest season, attend vendor fairs, and take part in hands-on activities (like planting flower pots) at the Mountain Town Festival.
Taste the World | August 19
Aurora’s annual celebration of global culture returns to the Aurora Municipal Center Great Lawn this month. Global Fest will feature a handful of locally brewed beers inspired by global flavors and cuisine from around the world. Though it’s free to attend and enjoy the entertainment (including a performance from Morgan Heritage, who won a 2016 Grammy for Best Reggae Album), food and beverages cost extra.
