Nonprofit There With Care (TWC) will stage its annual Red Carpet Adventure, a benefit to assist the organization’s work with families who have children fighting critical illnesses, this Friday in Denver and Saturday in Boulder.
The organization should be familiar to 5280 readers; its founder, Paula DuPre’ Pesmen, was our 2014 Top of the Town editors’ choice for “best do-gooder.” TWC enlists money, people, and services to provide families with what they need to make it through the toughest situations surrounding their child’s health issues: meals, rides, housecleaning, counseling, or any other day-to-day things that fall by the wayside during a crisis.
Every September, TWC hosts its dual location fund-raiser to celebrate these families and their care providers. This year’s event will feature emcees Victor Levin (a producer of Mad Men and Mad About You) in Denver on Friday night, and actor/comedian Tom Kenny (aka the voice of SpongeBob) in Boulder on Saturday. Pianist Justin Kauflin and singer/songwriters Zach Heckendorf and Heather Maloney are returning performers, and the slates also feature local indie band Darlingside, vocalist Quinn D’Andrea, and youth string quartet In-Tune Ensemble.
Don’t miss this moving and joyful tribute to the crucial work of some good people.
Details: Friday, September 12 at the McNichols Civic Center Building, and Saturday, September 13 at the Boulder Theater. Doors open both nights at 5:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception; dinner begins at 7 p.m, performances at 8:30 p.m. There will also be a silent auction. Tickets start at $150 per person.
