Among the eight “douchiest” things men do to impress women, according to Guyism, is brag that they love the Dave Matthews Band: “It may work for, like, two weeks, but imagine finding yourself in a long-term relationship with her. You don’t want to be listening to ‘Satellite’ at your anniversary.”
Or maybe you do want to score.
Now in it’s third season, this summer’s Mile High Music Festival will feature Matthews and a string of other popular acts, “pulling out a lot more stops” than in the past, notes CBS4’s Greg Moody. The bill for the two-day fest includes Weezer, the Steve Miller Band, My Morning Jacket, Slightly Stoopid, Atmosphere, Phoenix and Train, Nas & Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Cyress Hill, and the Susan Tedeschi Band. The festival is scheduled for August 14-15 on the soccer fields surrounding Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
Not everyone is impressed, however. The Colorado Springs Independent writes, “Given that the far more adventurous Monolith Festival appears dead in the water this year, it would have been nice if Mile High had picked up some of the slack. Instead, it’s playing it safer than ever, with virtually no acts that are likely to shake the mainstream headliners’ followers out of their complacency.”
