You’ve probably seen them before on Colfax Avenue outside the concert venues—droves of high-school-aged kids wearing killer clown makeup. Maybe you’re one of the Juggalos, which is what the fans of the “horrorcore” rap band, Insane Clown Posse, call themselves. For those who haven’t been to an ICP show, the band likes to soak the throngs who come in Faygo, the members’ favorite brand of grape soda. As Violent J, one half of the ICP duo, tells the Colorado Springs Independent, “I don’t want to sound conceited, but to me it’s the best thing going. We feel like we’re putting on the greatest show on earth.” But the circus outside Monday night’s show at the Fillmore Auditorium turned violent when two people in the parking lot of a nearby Wendy’s restaurant were stabbed by a now-in-custody suspect who police believe was probably going to attend the concert, according to The Denver Post. Prior to the arrest, police had been on the lookout for a suspect whose description would match just about anyone outside the show—someone wearing white pants and a white shirt and face paint. The victims were rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Lieutenant Matt Murray, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department, says investigators also took another person into custody in connection with the stabbings a short time later, according to 7 News.
