If you’re a Republican hesitant to vote for Scott McInnis in the wake of his plagiarism scandal or Dan Maes, whose business acumen has come  under scrutiny in the press, you may feel like you don’t have a reason to participate in the gubernatorial primary.

And what about the general election in November? Could Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, really be an option for a Republican?

If not, you might want to join independent voters and take a closer look at the other candidates hoping for your vote. You’ve heard of at least one of them: former Congressman Tom Tancredo (pictured). He’s considering a run as an unaffiliated or third-party candidate, according to The Denver Post, but he faces some hurdles.

“I will have more [to say] in the next 24 hours,” he says.

As Tancredo looks at his options, you might want to have a gander at Miguel Lopez’s campaign, especially if you support the “re-legalization” of marijuana. He’s a write-in candidate working to mainstream weed, as Westword reports.

Meanwhile, independent Jason R. Clark, the man who advertised for a running mate on Craigslist.org, hopes to score some points with alternative conservatives “and proud Americans,” writes The Colorado Independent.
