The college football season is over for most of Colorado’s popular teams, sparing their fans further emotional abuse. But followers of the Air Force Falcons can still look forward to the 2010 AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl, scheduled for December 27 in Shreveport, Louisiana (via the team’s website). Head coach Troy Calhoun has led the Falcons to an overall 8-4 record (5-3 in the Mountain West Conference), making it the fourth consecutive season that the Falcons have won eight games and qualified for a bowl game.
Although a formal announcement won’t come until Sunday, The Denver Post reports that the Falcons will take on a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference, perhaps the Clemson Tigers, quarterbacked by Colorado Rockies’ recent draft pick Kyle Parker.
Meanwhile, in the University of Colorado’s ongoing search for a new head coach, the school recently interviewed Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain, who helped lead the Crimson Tide to the national championship just a year ago (via The Denver Post).
