It’s hard not to get caught up in the summer cocktail trend, especially when local mixologists—at spots such as Colt & Gray, Shazz Cafe and Bar, and TAG—are shaking and stirring impressive creations.
But, if you’d prefer to wow your friends with something refreshing and notable from home, pick up a bottle of Domaine de Canton. This unique and elegant ginger liqueur is made from a blend of spicy baby ginger, honey, vanilla beans, ginseng, eau de vie, and Grande Champagne cognacs.
After experimenting with the liqueur, my favorite combination is one part Domaine de Canton, one part Centennial’s Downslope Distilling’s vanilla rum (regular rum would also work well), and two parts fresh-squeezed lemonade. Mix the ingredients in a tall glass, fill with ice, and top with several sprigs of fresh mint. The result? Cool perfection on a hot summer evening.
