The Nuggets and Avs are settling in for another season at the Pepsi Center, but what about the boss? We know E. Stanley Kroenke, the billionaire owner of the Nuggets, Avalanche, Rapids, and Mammoth, keeps a luxe crash pad on the northeast side of the arena. But he’s not up for giving us—or anyone—a tour. While the details of the two-floor, 12,000-square-foot, four-bedroom apartment, known to some as “Stan’s Place,” remain unconfirmed, Street & Smith’s Sports-Business Daily has reported that the expansive penthouse boasts an outdoor hot tub, a gym, a theater, and even a designated nap room. We can’t help but wonder what else might be hidden inside. Perhaps the mustachioed mogul is harboring a facial hair hall of fame (newest inductee: Colorado Rapids head coach Pablo Mastroeni). Or maybe he’s protecting a replica of the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy—which the Nuggets have yet to win. Here’s hoping Kroenke’s team brings the real thing home to roost this season.
