Stage 2: Aspen to Breakenridge (Tuesday, August 20)
Distance: 126.1 miles
Considered the toughest stage of the race, riders ascend more than 12,000 feet to Independance Pass, the highest point reached in any professional cycling race, before zooming through Buena Vista, Fairplay, and Alma to tackle Hoosier Pass and Breckenridge’s 15 percent grade Moonstone Road before crossing the finish line at the bottom of Boreas Pass.

Where to Watch: The climb to Independence Pass. Join thousands of fans decked out in costumes.
Fuel Up: Try a pressed panini from Park & Main Quality Food in downtown Breckenridge.
Don’t Miss: Post your photos with #breckbecause hashtag and your images will appear on the Jumbotron downtown.
Stay: Relax at the Beaver Run Resort. Close to trails and town, you can stay in a traditional hotel room or condo style units.
