Military wear is really a wardrobe classic (we see it nearly every season), but the trend seems like a particularly good balance to this spring’s plethora of 1970s garb. My advice: Toughen up a romantic maxi skirt or a classic white tee with a utility jacket or cargo pants. You can’t go wrong with neutral tones such as olive green and khaki, but I’m a fan of updated pieces in navy blue (check out the cargo pants below) and pixelated camo (shown above). Final tip: Maximize your military investment by keeping layering in mind; this trend is being shown straight into Fall 2015 (see Altuzarra, Preen, and Rebecca Minkoff).
