The “It” Factor for Denver: Although her frocks are favorites for garden and cocktail parties alike, fans of Lela Rose also should seek out casual day looks, such as a short-sleeve, cowl-neck shift, for its relaxed, pulled-together style.
The Gist of the Show: Lela Rose’s well-tailored, ladylike style is her signature, and this season’s collection of skirts embellished with hip panels, softly constructed jackets—some with double lapels— abstract prints cut into elegant tops, and simple, short-sleeve dresses are all pretty and very wearable.
But spring also sees Rose continue to develop more casual, sporty items like a terrific anorak and a color-blocked cardigan. Although there are some design missteps with her formal gowns, Rose’s cocktail looks are strong.
