Three-month-old, plant-based Somebody People is breaking the Denver restaurant mold in a variety of ways, including turning Sunday night into the hottest dinner service of the week. There and then, you’ll find a packed house of hungry hipsters, all reveling in the South Broadway spot’s retro Palm Springs vibe and its $25-per-person Sunday Supper. Five seasonal vegan dishes will grace your table over the course of the feast, from the likes of fat grilled Castelvetrano olives in rosemary-scented oil to luscious wild mushrooms, also grilled, sitting in a pool of tangy chimichurri spiked with Calabrian chiles. Roasted cauliflower florets and pickled stems may arrive as a stunning crescent on the plate, donned with pistachios, pomegranate arils, and mint. Servers will refill colorful, reusable cotton bags of caraway-studded sourdough from Reunion Bread Co—all the better for swiping through fluffy sunflower seed hummus with za’atar, sumac, and basil oil. Then comes hand-extruded semolina pasta (no eggs!) with, say, carrot Bolognese (oat milk gives the sauce body) and a dessert. Tip: Zero-waste Somebody People doesn’t do disposable to-go containers, so unless you feel like adding a metal tiffin carrier ($14) to your order, it’s eat up or BYO Tupperware so you can take your leftovers for lunch on Monday.
