It’s not being reported locally, but Dean Singleton’s MediaNews Group — owner of the Denver Post — is among the companies bidding for newspaper giant Knight Ridder.

For those of you who don’t follow the newspaper business, Knight Ridder is a respected company that owns 32 daily newspapers, including the Miami Herald and the Philadephia Inquirer. It is not an 80’s TV show.
