Bill Husted covers Denverite Judy Collins upcoming run at New York’s famous Cafe Carlyle, but balks at the prices ($125 per person cover, plus dinner). For the more frugal among you, here’s a tip. Get there early and sit at the bar. The cover drops to a mere $85 and you don’t have to order dinner. Best of all, you’ll likely meet some cool people and still have a great view of the stage.

Judy is playing Tuesday through Saturday starting Jan. 22. If you’re making the trip, I’d highly suggest getting there a night early for one Woody’s regular Monday night shows.
