More than 400 people filled the Blessed John XXIII Catholic University Parish near Colorado State University yesterday to say goodbye to Rich Bircumshaw, who passed away April 29 following a stroke.
Bircumshaw, 54, was the “Voice of the Rams” for the past eight years and was like a best friend to everybody he met, said former CSU football coach Sonny Lubick (via the Fort Collins Coloradoan). Several of the memorial’s speakers noted Bircumshaw’s uncanny ability to relay vivid detail to radio listeners and keep precise statistics, but the universal theme of the service was the relationships he built.
