Maggie Burns has designed evening gowns for the Oscars and some of the wardrobe for an upcoming Jessica Alba flick (Dear Eleanor). But Burns’ Marie-Margot Couture—the French version of Burns’ full name, Mary Margaret—is best-known for its custom wedding dresses. Now the Denver designer is expanding beyond the altar with a collection of layered lace and chiffon camisoles and shorts. The line employs traditional bridal materials in low-maintenance pieces (hand wash or delicate cycle) that can be worn as daywear or lingerie. “Great for honeymoon travel,” Burns says. Of course, you don’t have to be going to a chapel to enjoy the new line. Wear the camisole, in candy-colored combinations, white, or black, alone as a daytime underpinning. Or shake up the sweats-at-home routine by pairing it with matching satin drawstring shorts—perfect for rekindling the magic of the honeymoon inside your own bedroom.
