The RTD strike is over. Monday, buses and lite rail will resume service. What did the strikers gain? Hopefully, respect at the bargaining table. Financially, they didn’t get more than the final offer, they just got more of it up front. The raise increase will be $1.80 an hour, what had been offered previously, only instead of being applied quarterly over three years at 15 cents an hour, workers will see immediate raises of 50 cents an hour.
Workers will get an immediate raise of up to 50 cents an hour, even though the three- year raise total is still $1.80 more per hour, the same as in the previous proposal. Workers also will get $20 more per month toward their health insurance.
