Today marks the 16th opening day for the Colorado Rockies, as they host last year’s World Series champions, the Philadelphia Phillies.
Opening day has always held a special place in Denver’s heart, but it turns out that the day’s festivities have gripped the city for more than 100 years, according to The Denver Post. Teams like the Denvers and the Denver Bears always put on a great show for fans, sometimes accompanied by parades and lavish ceremonies.
