Chandelier
The light fixture (a West Elm floor sample) is the “jewelry of the room,” Iba says. “It draws your eye toward the ceiling.” Tip: Knotted strips of linen hide the chain.
Walls
Benjamin Moore Teal adorns the main walls. “I loved the idea of doing something dark and moody,” Iba says.
Storage
The boxes (Ikea) on the shelves and a file cabinet (a Crate & Barrel floor sample that resembles a credenza) help keep everyone’s things organized, from the kids’ crafts to important household files.
Seating

Bookcase
Ikea Billy bookcases become bold accents when back-painted with a custom blend of Ralph Lauren Bitter Orange.
Rug
The black-and-white Ikea Stockholm rug anchors the brightly colored furnishings.
