We’ve already explained why you absolutely have to have a pair of gladiator sandals in your closet, but who doesn’t need (OK, want) more shoes? If you’re still looking for options to fill out your spring footwear collection, check out Roman Road Shoes for unique, handmade shoes crafted by artisans from around the world. Owner Catherine Bradshaw launched the Denver-based online store last August. The inventory follows seasonal runway trends, but Bradshaw keeps things exclusive by only purchasing six to 15 pairs of each style. We asked Bradshaw about the top shoe trends this season.
Metallic Details
Designers aren’t shy about using full-blown metallic; just look at the Easter-egg-blue pumps by Miu Miu or a pair of strappy gold sandals from Tom Ford. Bradshaw captures the look with Rosamunda’s feminine yet tough Gemma thong sandal (pictured, above; $224) in gray metallic with delicate mesh chain detailing.
Color-Blocking
Color-blocked clothing has been popular for the last few seasons, but Bradshaw brings the trend to our feet with these black-and-white Desiree sandals by Rosamunda (pictured, right; $266). The comfortable, clog-like bottom is an up-and-coming trend making its way here from Europe.
