Myrl Serra, the district attorney for the 7th Judicial District on Colorado’s Western Slope, was hauled off to the clink in Montrose County on Thursday, after he was arrested for unlawful sexual contact with no consent that included the use of force or threats, indecent exposure, and first-degree official misconduct. That’s about all that’s known at this point. The details of the case are contained in an arrest affidavit, which has been sealed, reports Westword. Colorado’s top prosecutor, Attorney General John Suthers, is serving as special prosecutor in the stunning case.
Serra, who was released on bond, is set to appear in court on November 3 in Mesa County, as all District 7 judges have recused themselves, according to the Montrose Daily Press.
