Arapahoe Basin | The 6th Alley Bar gets a million dollar remodel and some new menu items. Don’t worry, the Bacon Bloody Marys aren’t going anywhere.
Aspen/Snowmass | Last season, Aspen/Snowmass added 230 acres of new terrain on Burnt Mountain and the Elk Camp Restaurant. This year, they’re remodeling the Little Nell Hotel. And Aspen Highlands adds gladed terrain: The Lucky Find Glades and Mystery Gully offer two new lines of skiing in a formerly closed area.
Breckenridge | Breck will open one lift on Peak 9 an hour early for resort guests as part of its new First Track Fridays program. Oh, yeah, and they’re adding 543 skiable acres with the debut of Peak 6 in December.
Copper Mountain | We already told you about Sherpa, Copper Mountain’s new real-time intelligence app. Also new this year: Storm King gets a new T-Bar lift while Copper adds a surface lift, “The West Ridge Platter,” to the top of the Sierra chairlift, which grants easier access to Union Meadows, West Ridge, and Copper Bowl. Plus, the Woodward at Copper Barn now includes surfaces fit for skateboards, BMX, and slope-style mountain bike. Highlights include a new pump track and beginner foam pit.
Crested Butte | CB has three new kid-friendly forested trails in the Painter Boy area, including one with “Elk Avenue” facades. Other improvements for the pint-sized set include a ski-through bear cave and an interactive gold mining building. Bonus: Everyone skis free on opening day (November 27).
Durango Mountain | Durango Mountain Resort adds dog sledding to its list of activities thanks to Durango Dog Ranch. And the Purgatory Village Plaza gets a new malt shop and candy store.
Eldora | Not that they’re going to need it (fingers crossed), but Eldora is doubling its snow-pumping capacity this season.
Keystone | Keystone continues its kids ski free program (kids under 12 that is) when you stay for two nights. They also have a new Family Ski Trail (Schoolmarm) and Free Family Front-Row Parking in the main lot near the gondola.
Loveland | The Ridge Cat is back for its second season, offering free cat skiing access to the north side of the Ridge. The resort pumps up food services (and, importantly, restrooms) in the remodeled Ptarmigan Roost Cabin.
Monarch | Still high on the debut of their multi-million dollar base lodge, Monarch also has a new bar in the cafeteria this year.
Silverton | Colorado’s only heli-skiing resort now offers overnight heli-skiing too. Silverton puts guests on a bird with a guide for day of skiing and snowboarding and a night in one of two North Face 2 Meter Domes, followed by another day of skiing back down to the base.
Ski Cooper | The rental shop gets a remodel and the gift shop is being relocated.
Ski Granby Ranch | Granby’s rental fleet gets an upgrade thanks to a new partnership with K2. Plus, the resort has an additional eight snowmaking guns.
Sunlight | Sunlight gets a partial zero-emission vehicle from Subaru as the resort company car.
Steamboat | The multi-million dollar Four Points Lodge debuts in the Storm Peak/Four Points area of the mountain. It will include an outdoor barbecue, indoor bar, and, of course, flat screen TVs. Also, as we previously reported, Steamboat offers night skiing this year.
Telluride | Telluride opens the Inn at Lost Creek this year, a 32-room boutique hotel with ski-in, ski-out access. And the Mountain Village gains another restaurant: Siam Talay Grille, sister to Siam in downtown Telluride.
Winter Park | This year, skiers and riders can grab a lift aboard the new Cirque Sled, a snowcat ride to the Cirque. And then there’s the return of the Coco-Cola Tubing Hill, which opened last year.
Wolf Creek | A new high-speed quad replaces the Treasure Lift this year.
